Dr. Neeley enjoys teaching a variety of courses, including: first-year composition, professional writing, writing in the social sciences, writing for humanities majors, research methods, and advanced grammar. Her research interests include composition theory, classical rhetoric, and cultural studies. She enjoys doing student- and classroom-based pedagogical research and is interested in investigating the connections between cultural studies and feminist ethics theory to re-envision critical pedagogy for writing studies. Her dissertation uses educational anthropology to analyze the feminist critique of critical pedagogy within composition studies. She is the author of Academic Literacy, a textbook for first-year composition (2nd ed. Longman, 2004).
